I chose the words, imaginative, bright and adaptable to describe myself because they all specifically represent my personality in every aspect of my life. I wanted words that detailed the entirety of who I am as a person, not just in certain situations. For example, when planning an event at work, I tend to be more assertive than I would be in any other instance. Assertive would not be a great word to describe me since it’s not a consistent aspect of my personality. Imaginative, bright and adaptable represent my creativity, my whimsical and playful nature, and flexibility.
In response to Diamond’s photo, I suggested using a mountain range. Her words passionate, hopeful and unorthodox, immediately made me think about a large mountain range due to its imposing and inspiring size, along with its peaceful energy.
I used Unsplash to search for photos. I often used this site in undergrad when searching for high quality reference photos for my drawing and painting projects. I specifically searched for “crowded and colorful” images as this is what came to mind when thinking of my words. Below are images I selected, in chronological order, before and after more thought and feedback from Diamond.
For my final image (below) I decided to expand on the idea of using balloons. I wanted something more permanent (all balloons eventually pop!) that could physically travel further to represent imaginative and adaptable. I specifically loved the colors in this photo and felt they portrayed my word bright, very well!
